Gazprom: 20 workers isolated at gas field for Nord Stream over coronavirus

MOSCOW (Reuters) - Russian gas giant Gazprom said on Thursday 20 workers have been quarantined at Bovanenkovo gas field, which feeds the Nord Stream pipeline, after contact with a person who has coronavirus, while shifts were suspended and local airport shut. Gas production at the field, also a key source of wider Russian gas supplies to Europe, has been unaffected, Gazprom said. The outbreak of the coronavirus has forced many Russian commodity-producing companies to put in place measures, including longer shifts, at far-flung mines.
